Development trend of wireless satellite equipment industry in China

(1) Large-scale launch and operation of low-orbit (LEO) communication satellites. Low-orbit (LEO) communication satellite refers to the communication satellite operating at an altitude of 500-2,000 kilometers. It has the advantages of low transmission delay, wide coverage and relatively low cost, and is an important means to realize the global high-speed broadband service. At present, there are several low orbit (LEO) communication satellite projects in the world, such as the Starlink project of SpaceX in the US, OneWeb Satellites in the UK, and the "Sky Chain" project of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is expected that by 2023, thousands of low-orbit (LEO) communication satellites will be in orbit worldwide, providing high-speed broadband services to users around the world. (2) Fusion application of 5G network and satellite communication.5G network refers to the fifth generation of mobile communication network, which is characterized by high speed, low delay and large connection. It is the infrastructure of the Internet of Things, smart city, autonomous driving and other applications. Satellite communication refers to the radio communication using satellite as a relay, which has the characteristics of wide coverage, large communication capacity and good transmission quality. It is an important means to realize the global seamless connection and remote operation applications. The integrated application of 5G network and satellite communication can realize complementary advantages, improve network performance and service quality, and expand application scenarios and market space. It is expected that by 2023, the integrated application of 5G network and satellite communications will make breakthroughs and progress in transportation, aerospace, agriculture, medical care, education and other fields. (3) Research and development and application of new carrier technology and coding technology. New carrier technology and coding technology refers to the use of new electromagnetic wave or light wave as the carrier wave, and the use of new coding mode for information transmission technology, the purpose is to improve the transmission efficiency and anti-interference ability, reduce the transmission cost and power consumption. At present, there are some new carrier technologies and coding technologies in the development and test stage, such as quantum key distribution technology, laser communication technology, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technology, polarization coding technology, etc. It is expected that by 2023, these new carrier technologies and coding technologies will get more applications and verification in the field of wireless satellite equipment by 2023.
